Headteacher’s Welcome
Welcome to Ernesettle Community School—a place where children are happy, confident, and inspired to love learning for life.
We are proud to be a place where strong relationships and a sense of belonging help our children to thrive every single day. We know that happy children achieve more, and it is through this belief that our pupils thrive both personally and academically.
Our dedicated team work hard to provide an enriching education that nurtures both academic success and emotional wellbeing. We believe that when children feel safe, valued and excited to learn, they flourish – and the feedback from our most recent Ofsted inspection in January 2025 reflects just that.
Inspectors praised our “visionary leadership,” “incredible learning opportunities,” and the “impeccable behaviour and strong attitudes to learning” shown by our pupils.
We are proud of this recognition, but prouder still of the children who bring our school to life every day—thoughtful, energetic, creative individuals who aspire to be the best they can be, not just for themselves but for others.
At Ernesettle, we are proud to offer a truly unique curriculum shaped by our values and our setting. Our one-of-a-kind ‘Resilience Curriculum’ encourages children to step outside of their comfort zones through unplugged adventures like ‘Sleeping with Sharks’ at the National Marine Aquarium, exploring London, and experiencing outdoor learning at Grenville and Heatree. These experiences help our pupils develop teamwork, courage, and a real sense of who they are whilst discovering their potential in new and exciting ways. It’s because of this foundation that our children consistently achieve, feel proud of who they are, and leave us confident, kind and ready to do good in the world.
Our exceptional facilities, including a 3G pitch, bike track and even our own apiary—help bring learning to life in meaningful ways.
We talk often about going out into the world to do well, but more importantly, going out into the world to do good. That’s the kind of young people we aim to develop at Ernesettle—resilient, kind-hearted and ready to contribute positively to society. We look forward to welcoming you into our school community and sharing with you all that makes Ernesettle such a special place to learn and grow. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch—there is always someone here who will be happy to help.
